Frau Hitt will have her Way / Clementine Leigh

06 30th, 2011

A long time ago, in a castle near Innsbruck, lived the owner of lots of land with the name of Frau Hitt. Frau Hitt was notorious for her greed, selfishness and lack of feeling. The farmers that worked on her land were paid only little and often abused.

Then came a day hunger struck the country. Many people were near to starvation but only Frau Hitt had enough food for herself and her only love, a magnificent white horse on which she rode through the country when inspecting her fields, blaming the farmers for the lack of food.

During one of those trips, when she came back from an inspection of a farm, she crossed a pass where she met a stranger.

‚Have mercy with a hungry man‘ the stranger addressed her, looking at the bread she was carrying as provisions. Frau Hitt did not even look at him but rode on.

‚I beg you in the name of god almighty, give me something to eat‘ the man called desperately. Frau Hitt stopped and turned. When she came to the man she pulled a stone from the rock and gave it to the man. ‚If you are really hungry‘ she said ‚you can eat this stone.‘ Hearing this the man cursed Frau Hitt.

‚May you turn in the same stone as your heart‘ he said and just after he spoke these words a huge Hugh came up and when it had passed over a new stone pillar stand on the pass above Innsbruck, remarkably resembling a woman on a horse. This stone can still be seen above Innsbruck, somewhat west in the Hafelekar.sbruck, lived the ower of lots of land with the name of Frau Hitt. Frau Hitt was notorious for her greed, selfishness and lack of feeling. The farmers that worked on her land were paid only little and often abused.
